At not quite 16 months this is becoming one of my favorite ages. The girls are so much fun and they amaze me every day at how much they are taking in. And in a way it is a little bittersweet because they just seem so grown up now that they are both walking everywhere and really communicating to us.
We are all very ready for some frequent outings, so I have been working on getting them down to one nap a day. And after a few weeks, they seem to have adjusted pretty well. Leah was not going to sleep at night so I thought also that one nap instead of two would do her good. So now they go down for an hour or two after lunch which leaves the whole morning to play.
We have gone to the park a number of times and we went to McWane Science Center this past Friday. My sister in law has been taking her kids for a while now, and since Leah is finally walking so well, I thought we would give it a try. Oh my gosh they played harder than I have ever seen. We got there at 9:30 and left around 2! We took a lunch break but they went right back to playing. They especially loved the water table, which of course resulted in an outfit change. They had a blast though!
Along with our little adventures (which I am always looking for things to do with them when I am off work if you have any ideas) they are changing every day! Its amazing to realize how much they understand. I told Hannah the other day "Lets go get sissy" (Leah woke up from her nap after Hannah) and Hannah got so excited and ran to Leahs door, then when we peeked inside she kept saying SSSSS SSSSS! (sis) and Leah would respond "Nana!" (Hannah). Then they laughed and held hands between the crib slats.
I tell them to go brush their teeth and they both go to the bathroom and sit on their stool awaiting their toothbrushes. Or to go to the bath which they respond "Bubbles! or BA!" and run to the bathroom. I can even say to go get their pajamas and they go to Leahs room. And at night when we change them for bed I lay out their pajamas and diaper and they each lie down on top of them ready to be changed. When I say snack, they go to the high chairs, and play with their kitchen when I ask them to go cook.
We are still working on them responding to the word "no". Unfortunately they still think that is the funniest word they know.
They are just amazing and I feel so blessed every day that I get to spend with my wonderful little family. And we have just come so far from this time last year.
These are just some cute pics I took tonight
