An early birthday party

We did a little celebration for my girl's 5th birthday early with my parents because we would be in Disney on their actual birthday.  It was a great low key little dinner.  And it was good to prepare me that their birthday was actually just around the corner.

And I cannot believe I did not take a picture, but I had Publix make the cake.  Since there were only a few of us I just wanted something small.  I asked the girls what they wanted on their cakes.  Hannah wanted blue and orange with a butterfly.  Leah wanted blue and purple with a mermaid (specifically Melody, Ariels daughter.)  After about 30 minutes of explaining to Publix what I wanted and told them in no way does it have to be perfect, they agreed to do a small cake and do it in halves.

The result was hilarious but totally fine with me.  They did the mermaid as asked ... but forgot the arms.  Well at least they got the sea shells and belly button?  How did I forget the picture?

Noah participated in the festivities as well.


Ok Lala may be mad at me if she ever sees this picture but I found it hilarious.  She was holding Noah posing for a picture and he suddenly started screaming.  Maybe she accidentally poked him?  This was her immediate reaction.  He broke her heart.


Almost 5.  Say it isnt so.  They will always be my babies.

He was a happy baby but way more interested in the stuffed animals sitting next to him this go around.






At five months Noah has started becoming more engaged.  He is still rather lazy which I am fine with.  He started rolling to his back frequently but he doesnt roll back over so he is waking up at night often, which part of me hates and part of me doesnt mind because I won't get those midnight cuddles forever.  Overall he is a happy baby and still a snuggler.  Its amazing how much I love this little boy.

Day at the park

Sometimes the simplest of days bring the most joy.  The first taste of fall with mid 70s temperature, low humidity, and a perfect blue sky meant we had to be a part of it.

The girls start gymnastics

This year the girls are taking dance and gymnastics and they are thrilled about it.  They did a trial class and surprisingly chose to try two different ones.  Leah wanted " real gymnastics" and Hannah wanted to do tumbling.  (Hannah changed her mind after this class and they are both now doing gymnastics).

Noah gets rice cereal

So after about 2 weeks of Noah watching my cereal spoon every morning and sporadically yelling at me for no reason i put a spoon to his mouth.  And he opened wide.  So reluctantly I got him some cereal.  Why was I excited about this milestone with the girls?  It just adds another level of complicated.  Unfortunately he loves it, and loved it from the beginning.

Noah's 4 month check-up

My baby boy is growing up!  4 months already.  Unbelievable.  Here are his 4 month stats

Length: 26 inches (75%)
Weight: 13lbs 14oz (25%)
Head Circumference: 16 1/2 inches (50%)

Doc said we could start foods for him now.  Ive been giving him some cereal - not because I wanted to but because Noah was eyeing my cereal spoon so intently each morning that I felt guilty.  He ate it up.

He is a really good baby.  Poor kid goes wherever his sisters go out of necessity and unless he actually has to get there by car (yeah, thats everywhere) he never fusses.  He does still hate the car though.

He is sleeping good, though he does go through spells of inconsistency.  I do not mind it so much since he typically goes right back down.

He is not on a set schedule, but he is predictable.  He sleeps, eats when he wakes up, and always 2 hours after he wakes he is ready for a little nap.  As long as I follow his cues he gives my no problems. Sweet boy.

He still resembles Hannah as a baby but he definitely has his own little features.  And he is starting to get some chunky thighs which is my favorite.

We are so blessed to have him.  He and my sweet girls bring me constant joy.

Bumbo recall?

This may be why there was a need for a recall on the Bumbo Seat.

A visit to the lake

We are very void of lake house owning friends.  This is sad to me because I do love all boat related activities, though I hate swimming in the lake.  It creeps me out.  My children however, do not have this fear.  They are totally fine with not seeing underneath them.  I even make them wear their puddle jumpers because honestly, I don't love the idea of them going under where I cannot see.  Im a pool or crystal clear ocean kinda girl.

Their "Aunt" Lesley and "Uncle" Nate (the uncle and aunt of no relation but because Lesley and I grew up together, they will always be an aunt and uncle) live in NY... sadly.  But luckily for me his parents live about 45 minutes away so when they are in town we get to go play at the lake.  The girls love this part.  I just love seeing my friends.  Unless we get o the boat, or water ski or whatever.  Middle of the lake feels better to me.  Makes no sense, I know.

So when they came in town we took advantage of it and went for a visit.  And she got to meet Noah.  I wish I had gotten more pictures and Im not sure why I didn't.  Maybe because of the whole lake fear I have, I was constantly watching the girls more than I normally have to in water.  It was a very nice visit though and I miss my friends so much.

Leah convinced me to let her take off her "duck" and dive off the diving board.  (Panic hit me every time she went deeper than my view even though I know she is a great swimmer.)  Lakes.  ugh.



Hannah was a bit more timid on the diving board... so she just allowed Nate to throw her in.

Note: I hate this hand me down bathing suit - so of course it is the only one she wants to wear now.  ever.
