Trip to Destin

For Memorial Day, we went to Destin. This is not something I normally do because I hate the traffic down there at that time but they girls are so much easier now a days, and we dont have to pack nearly as much now that there are so few diapers and they sleep in big beds. So off we went.

We had a blast. My parents have a house with a jacuzzi in the back and thats pretty much where we stayed. Its big enough for the girls to swim pretty well in and its nice to just sit back and relax and let them play. We ventured to the beach once for about 30 minutes but the water had so much seaweed we couldnt get in it. So we left since it was so hot. The girls liked the pool better anyway.

They stayed in the water every minute they were not sleeping or eating. I learned to swim in this jacuzzi when I was their age and they are following suit. They became very comfortable with the water so we bought some goggles which was the best thing we could have done. Leah was diving for toys, and both were kicking across the tub with their faces in. In fact I couldnt get them to come up for air. (Especially Leah). We all had a blast and of course I got some cute pictures. (I took so many though you will have to go to our flickr account to see them all.) www.flickr.com/photos/matthewmccay

The videos were the first and second day they started swimming, and now at the neighborhood pool they are so much better. They try to use their arms now and are actually diving off the side. Since I was such an avid swimmer - I am very proud.

I don't know that word

A few nights ago Leah and I were talking about being obedient, and how it was important to listen to what mommy says. I said "Leah, you have to obey mommy and daddy". Leah responds "Obey? ...I dont know that word"

Then last night (Sunday) she randomly asked me as I was putting the girls to bed:
L: Is it Thursday morning?
Me: No, Its Sunday night. Tomorrow it will be monday morning.
L: Tomorrow? I don't know that word.

Kills me.
